  First inhabitant of istanbul are dating back to second millennia BC, They were settled on the asian side of the city which knows as Kalkedon means The Land of Blind One. The City name comes from megara king Byzas who took his colonist to historical peninsula in 7th century BC to establish a colony named BYZANTIUM.  In 193 AD Roman emperor Septimus Severus conqured the city and it remained under the Roman rule until 4th century AD, When emperor Constantine the Great made Byzantium the new capital of roman empire and gave it his name ; CONSTANTÄ°NOPLE Later in 1453 when Constantinople was conqured by Sultan Mehmed II ıt was renamed to ISLAMBOL that means the Place of Islam after estaplishment of Turkish Republic finally called as ISTANBUL.

Istanbul Historical Peninsula Tours Consist of Sultan Ahmet(Blue) Mosque, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and Grand Bazaar.

Our tour is going to start picking up all guest from hotels and meeting with guide. Then Folowing itinerary below;

Hagia Sophia ( Holy Wisdom) ; This amazing temple was built in 537 by Roman emperor Justinian. After construction completed the temple was open by the word of Justinian “ Solomon I surpassed you”. Cause it was the biggest church in the ancient time and for about 916 years it was used as a church. Afterwards in 1453 by Sultan Mehmet the second it was converted into Mosque and for about 483 years it was used as a mosque then in 1934 By first president of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. it was converted into museum right now current building uses as a mosque by President Erdogan.

Topkapı Palace: is the second palace in istanbul after the conquest. The construction of the palace including was completed between 1465 and 1478. However different sultans having ascended the throne and added parts to the palace which now gives the appearance of a lack of unity and style. unlike the other palaces maybe this palace is the most modest palace. Topkapı Palace was a city-Palace with a population of 4,000 people. Topkapı Palace covered an area of 70 hectars / 173 acres.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque ( Blue Mosque): Blue Mosque is the first 6 minareted mosque in Turkey. Blue Mosque was built between 1609 and 1616 by Sultan Ahmed I. Blue Mosque is still active mosque that muslim people can offer their prayer as well as open for foreign visitors. There are approximetly 21 thousand tiles and with domination of blue colour thats why by foreigners knows as Blu Mosque due to its Blue Tiles.

Hippodrome was ancient stadium used for many things such as horse track racing, gladiator fights, theatrical performances, politic issues. During the Ottoman era called as At meydanı where trained their horses. There are still tree Structure; Egyptian Obelisk, Serpentine Column and Constantine Column.

Lunch is going to be in a traditionall turkish restaurant where you can taste turkish delicious kebaps.

Grand Bazaar is the first covered bazaar having 3600 shops and 22 different Gates.
